Simple utility to help time and date stamp -
This utility proved especially useful for unattended dialling log file entries and automated date related archiving.
Date and time format are configurable from the command line line from Unix format to selected number of HHMMSS or MMSS etc. with ability to embed the date/time into strings of your choice.
To assist batch file archive procedures it is is possible to use this facility to create sub-directories.
NEW in V2.0 Added support for strict 8.3 string limit for directories and filenames, general formatting using strftime() format strings, ability to set environment variables, time zone difference as '+0100' format, the documentation has been updated (main reason for larger file than before) and is seperately downloadable to view first.

This utility enables multiple files to be accessed via email by long names that will mean something to the sender. The advantages over other methods is that all reports requested in the same line are sent as ONE email message.
The following items are configurable:-
Each subject can be any length of file, as long as it is compliant with email standards. So it is possible to provide MIME files by careful configuration.

Simple utility to help adding people to mailing lists and ensure they get the Welcome message - updates the listserver mailbox with the suitable 'subscribe listname...' messages.
This utility proved useful for groups of people who use email but seem incapable of understanding sending simple command messages. I find this useful when running mailing lists for groups where the primary purpose of the group is nothing to do with email/internet/web.
Create a file listing the listname, and the list of email addresses to add. Multiple mailing lists can be added at once by creating blocks of address for each list.

Simple utility I find useful to create a text file for autoresponders of the available public files from LISTSERV.DIR . This enables web page links to send a blank message to the responders for a file to be returned. Avoids problems of the limited mailform processing available on most homepages.
This programme reads LISTSERV.DIR to produce an output text file as if the Smoflist 'index' command had been received.
