Straight text links

These are the oldest types of menus, a collection of text that are links that hopefully are shown as different colours to the normal text and using the underline method to show they are links.

These may not be as pretty as other methods, but can always be read, even with text to speech readers for the blind users. They also scale with screen resolution easier.

Though unsightly to some they are often used for major links on the bottom of a lot of websites, like Ebay, Amazon and others. Websites like Google often use collections of links like this, so don't knock it, even the big web sites use them.

Often they are used along with other methods, to ensure that when the fancy methods fail someone might be able navigate the website, even if not so effectively.

To get here you have already seen examples of this in the lists on several of the pages, PHP-tips index, the start of this section of the PHP-tips section.
